The MultiTool

One tool that turns into the right tool, automatically.

The MultiTool is the only tool you need on your island. Point it at a block and it silently becomes the correct tool for that block β€” a pickaxe on stone, an axe on logs and chests, a shovel on dirt and gravel.

It also upgrades itself as you climb the phases.

How it works

  • It adapts on its own. As you look at the central block, the MultiTool in your hand changes shape to match what's there.

  • Its durability is its own. The tool carries a durability counter shown in its lore, with a coloured bar. Swapping shape does not reset or waste it.

  • It cannot be dropped. Trying to throw it away is refused with a message β€” this is a safety net, not a bug.

  • It never truly breaks. When the durability runs out you get "Your MultiTool broke! A new one has been given to you." and a fresh tool appears. You are never left without one.

No MultiTool tier has Silk Touch. Fortune is what multiplies your ore yield.

When your island levels up into a new tier, the MultiTool of everyone on the island is upgraded automatically β€” owner and co-op members alike. You don't need to craft or claim anything.

Your preferences

Two MultiTool options live in /ob settings:
